Solar Monitoring Troubleshooting
Your monitoring system is how you stay informed about your solar production. If it's not working right, here's how to identify and fix common issues.
Get SupportMonitoring Problems We See
Most monitoring issues fall into one of these buckets. Knowing which one you have is the first step.
App Not Updating
Your monitoring app has stopped showing new data, or the last update was hours or days ago
Connectivity Problems
The monitoring device has lost its connection to your home Wi-Fi or the internet
Reading Discrepancies
The numbers in your app don't match your utility bill or what you'd expect from current conditions
Missing or False Alerts
You're not getting notifications when problems happen, or you're getting alerts that seem off
Basic Fixes You Can Try
Restart Your Monitoring Device
Power cycle the monitoring gateway or communication module. Unplug it, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
Check Your Wi-Fi Connection
Make sure your home router is working and the monitoring device is within range. Some devices need a 2.4 GHz network.
Update the App
Make sure your monitoring app is running the latest version. Outdated apps can lose compatibility with the server.
Verify Inverter Communication
Check that the inverter itself is online. If the inverter is off or in fault mode, the monitoring system has no data to report.
Re-Pair the Device
If the connection was lost after a router change or password update, you may need to reconnect the monitoring device to your network.
