# Solar Inspection

We perform independent solar inspections for home buyers, sellers, and current owners. Useful when buying or selling a home with solar, after severe weather, or after a non-Lifestyle-Solar installer has gone out of business.

## What an inspection covers

- **Visual assessment**, panels, racking, conduit, roof penetrations, electrical disconnects
- **Inverter status**, make/model, age, error logs, remaining warranty
- **Monitoring data review**, last 12 months of production vs. expected
- **Electrical inspection**, connections, wire integrity, ground fault status
- **Documentation review**, interconnection agreement, net metering setup, system commissioning records, transferable warranties
- **Written report**, findings, recommended repairs, estimated remaining system life

## Common scenarios

- **Home buyer**, confirm the solar system you're inheriting is in good shape, has transferable warranties, and produces what's claimed.
- **Home seller**, provide buyers with an independent inspection report to support your asking price.
- **Post-storm**, verify hail, wind, or lightning didn't damage the array.
- **Inherited system from defunct installer**, establish a baseline so we can take over service.

## What we look for that homeowners often miss

- Microinverter or optimizer failures masked by overall system production
- Roof penetration leaks (often invisible from inside until significant damage)
- Loose connections that increase fire risk
- Inverter approaching end-of-life (10+ years on most string inverters)
- Net metering enrollment issues (e.g. utility doesn't actually have you set up)
