A home battery system stores excess solar production for use when the grid goes down or when utility rates are highest. We size systems around your critical loads and your utility's rate structure.

## Sizing

We size battery capacity around your **critical loads**, the circuits you most need during an outage, rather than whole-home backup, which usually requires more battery than makes financial sense. A typical critical-loads setup covers a refrigerator, a few lights, internet, well or sump pump, and one or two outlets per room.
