The battery basically shifts your solar production from when you make it to when you actually need it. #### What's the difference between solar battery storage and solar battery backup? They describe two uses of the same hardware. "Storage" emphasizes shifting solar from day to night to reduce your bill. "Backup" emphasizes keeping your lights on when the grid goes down. The same physical battery does both jobs. Which value matters more to you affects whether the math works out. #### How much does a home solar battery cost in PA?
